The network of HIV/AIDS positive in Sierra Leone (NETHIPS, christian aid and national AIDS secretariat, NAS, Tuesday held their second annual conference at the atlantic hall national stadium in Freetown. This year's meeting was themed: "Take the lead to mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS in Sierra Leone."
Chairperson of the programme Boi Jeneh Jalloh said the objective of the conference was to strengthen the relationship between people who are HIV/AIDS positive and NETHIPS.
Jalloh said both males and females are living with HIV/AIDS in the country. "We are very happy to conduct this kind of meeting so as to bring our partners and show- case that people can live long with HIV/AIDS if they use the right drugs," Jalloh said.
Director of NAS Dr. Brima Karbgo said his organization was very concerned about people living with the virus.
"This secretariat is friendly with people who are HIV/AIDS positive. The more we get together the better the understanding," Dr. Kargbo said, adding that NETHIPS was working hard to help the government in the case of HIV/AIDS in the country.
