Postcasts

January 8, 2007 · No Comments

I wanted to offer a few postcasts for 2007. If I were more ambitious, I would issue forth forecasts, but everything I expect in 2007 is rooted in the recent past, and hence, postcasted:

1. The rise of specialized social networks. As the space matures, my niche affinity interests will increasingly find a home within a niche network. Check out www.blogtalkradio.com, www.fatvine.com and www.organizedwisdom for what’s to come.

2. The adoption of blogosphere “listening” services, and the seeds of “social media bureaus” in PR. PR practioners are beginning to realize that media is media, if only for the reason that they can produce “placements” from it.

3. Web 3.0–the semantic approach–will get more hype than it merits. John Markoff from the Times may have jumped the gun on this one.
