For a very long time I’ve searched high and low
looking for something I can not find
I’ve looked under the porch and under the house
my home I’ve torn apart in vain until exhausted!
I’ve emptied my closets and storage building too
still all to no avail
yet without fail I’m looking still
for something I can not seem to find!

The Poet Defends His Angel

With her back against the wall
the Angel sat quietly weeping
with her face buried in her hands
as before her the battle raged
her body bruised and battered
racked with heartfelt sobs
her clothes torn and tattered
Just a few feet away the Poet
defended the honor of his lady
to avenge her dishonor with his sword
as between the Dark Lord and his [...]

Riding down the expressway a few years ago
returning home from a family reunion
a large billboard sign I chanced to see
that set my mind to thinking
It was the picture of a young and delightful woman
with sparkling eyes and a lovely smile upon her lips
while between her fingers a cigarette she was holding
while the sign boldly declared, [...]

Somewhere hidden deep within
the depths of my heart and mind

would I willingly flee
take refuge within the calmness
of the harbor of [...]

the mighty cannons of their pulsars roaring
while the red glare of their torpedoes
flared [...]
The Jokes We Tell

Everybody likes to smile and laugh
to tell a funny joke every now and then
a good sense of humor can lighten a heavy load
while the ability to laugh at ones self helps to ease the pain
So then why are so many hurt and saddened
by the jokes we often tell
could it be that we’ve become so callous
that [...]
A Kiss In The Moonlight

There’s a full a moon out tonight and not a cloud in the sky
would you like to take a stroll in the moonlight with me?
should I start to act a little strange I promise not to howl
still like a wolf I just might steal a kiss from your sweet lips
Oh how sweet was the [...]
