Throughout the many years that I have lived
having met quite a few different types of women
yet only once in a great long while
do I ever meet a woman that indeed is truly special

Though most men prefer the one most beautiful
unwilling to settle for what they consider homely or average
yet it’s not so much a perfect figure that I desire
but a woman’s character that I most admire

It’s not so much voluptuous curves that my eyes want to behold
but a sparkling and friendly smile that caringly says hello
to bask within the calm and pleasant atmosphere
of a tender hearted woman who is sweet, gentle and kind

For beauty is only skin deep and doesn’t last forever
never fully revealing and often concealing
the ugliness that lies deep within the beating heart
our looks we are born with while our character is for us to mold

So the truest measure of a persons worth
aren’t the looks we so often seek to improve
instead it is the person we truly are deep down inside
the character that each develops reacting to the daily events of our lives

Recently I’ve had the most excellent fortune
of making the acquaintance of meeting such a wonderful woman
being the manager of a restaurant where my family and I like to dine
she is a woman that is indeed quite rare

Cindy is this caring and gentle woman’s lovely name
someone that I hope that I shall never forget
though it isn’t her natural beauty that has impressed me so
but the inner beauty of her attitude springing forth from the depths of her soul

It isn’t her long platinum blonde hair secured with a bow
her trim and obviously well cared for figure
neither is it the light blue make up that highlights her eyes
that I find so easy to admire

It’s the sparkle within her twinkling eyes so bright
the sunshine of the sweet smile upon her lovely face
that she gracefully beams upon each customer
from the moment they walk though the door until at last they chose to depart

It’s the cheery, “Hello!” that rings out clearly
as she greets each person who decides to enter her store
eager to please and serve her guests eating there
as she circulates throughout the dining room making all feel special

It’s not just the delicious pizza that she serves so well
the well ordered store or the crew so well trained
but the pleasant atmosphere her attitude and kindly manor create
that attracts her loyal customers back for another meal

Truly children must be her special delight
for she speaks sweetly as a friend to them all
listening to whatever they have to tell her
treating each one to either a red or green balloon

It’s the special way she takes care of everyone
making sure that all is well and making right what isn’t
the way she says thank-you to each and everyone
biding each customer farewell and inviting them to soon return

No it’s not her natural loveliness that all can’t help but see
but the sweetness of her character that shines so much the brighter
the lovely person she has chosen to become
that I can’t help but greatly admire!
