HOW many times do you feel like you had to settle for the silver or bronze medal? Oh, you might say, “Hey, at least I won a medal.” True. However, we (SHER AND I) want the GOLD MEDAL and nothing less! Why? WELL FIRST OF ALL WE HAVE BOTH TRAINED VERY HARD FOR THIS RACE, SHER 55 YEARS AND I, 53 YEARS! WE DESRVE IT! We have come across hills, bumps, rain, wild animals and not to mention people, oh man, lots of people and not to mention our own egos! As most likely with your race, ours has been filled challenges, doubts, sadness, joy, loss, mistakes, safe friends, un-safe friends, love, anger, passion, bitterness, love, disappointments, blessings, goals met, missed goals, opportunities, missed opportunities, great jobs, sucky jobs, good times, bad times, healthy, unhealthy, births, deaths, trusts, betrayals, loneliness, fulfilled, strong, weak - think we covered it? Life truly is a journey - and despite getting wacked along side of the head with a brick now and then - we need to enjoy life. Someone said, “It is not the years in your life that count but the life in your years that count.” Someone also said, “It’s a shallow life that doesn’t give a person a few scars.” 

So a silver or bronze medal just doesn’t cut it - go for the gold! Did you know that our success in life is no accident? Success just doesn’t happen - it takes work. Oh yeah, and one other very important thing; Success comes from following God’s laws and from receiving His favor. What kind of favor does God give to us? The kind found in Leviticus 26:9-12, “I will on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you. You will still be eating last year’s harvest when you will have to move it out to make room for the new. I will put my dwelling place among you, and I will not abhor you. I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people.” WOW - what a promise for our God! However, we MUST remember this, If we do not follow His ways, we most likely will not achieve success. We must walk in His ways. Trust God with your dreams and your goals. When you trust God you are saying, “He is the source of all good things, and He will show you what is good.”The Word of God says, “He satisfies your desires with good things.” 

Running your race in life? Are you jumping and clearing the hurdles of Failure? - Criticism? - Doubt? - Discouragement? - Fear? and Conflicts? GO FOR IT!!! We are called to take what we have been given and to add to it! GO FOR THE GOLD! IT’S YOUR DESTINY! IF GOD BE FOR YOU, WHO CAN BE AGAINST YOU? When we make it home with the Lord, we want to hear, well done, good and faithful servants - How About You?
