EMPLOYMENT CONNECTION:
LINKING POTENTIAL TO CAREERSEmployment Connectin - In The News
Our Employment Connection program assists those seeking professional careers learn the practical and soft skills needed to conduct effective job searches, addressing each individual’s needs, goals, and interests. Services include:
- Individual and group career counseling and coaching
- Assessments to identify work style, interests, skills, and goals
- Identification of industries and jobs of interest
- Workshops on self-advocacy, job search activities, job retention, networking, and presentation skills
- Network opportunities with HR professionals to hone interview skills
- Consultations on disclosing a disability in an interview, requesting reasonable accommodations, and negotiating salaries and benefits
- Access to our Career Networking Club
For those who have little to no work experience, we have a Job Readiness Training program that covers the very basics of an effective job search while providing the information and experience needed to understand what competitive employment entails and how to acquire it independently.
To assist with job search demands common to all job seekers, the Guild's Adaptive Technology Center, which is outfitted with the latest technology as well as with Internet access, is available to all participants free-of-charge during regular office hours.
