Today is national “Teacher Day.” (And if you’re thinking, “Man, there are a lot of holidays/special events.” You’re right!) Actually it is the birthday of the second President of India who was a pro education leader, and thus Teacher Day is celebrated on his birthday. So, the teachers performed the morning assembly instead of the students. I provided the “thought for the day,” using one of my favorite Paulo Freire quotes, then the twelfth grade students taught all of our classes while we sat back and relaxed. I was invited to the Air Force base with the staff where we had tea with the Commander, then came back to school for a teacher vs. student volleyball match. We, the gentlemen, lost, but the female teachers prevailed! I thought this shot of twelfth grade students in saris (teacher attire) vs. teachers was interesting. All for now! ~Matt P.S. Our boys team lost in the finals. We won the 2nd half, but were destroyed the first half. Bonus pics are available!

I want a teacher day! Where are you exactly? How long will you be there? And when can I come visit?
Miss you!
