Video Games and That

Today I purchased a new game for the xBox360.  It is “The Orange Box” which is three games in one:  Half-Life, Portal, and some other game I keep forgetting the name of.  This trio is supposedly the best deal in gaming with Portal claiming to be worth the cost on its own.  I’m very excited.

What that does, however, is steal time I could be using to write.  I love to play games.  But I like to write.  How do I balance the two?  Then I thought:  Hey!  What if I log my hours writing.  And every hour I write equals an hour of gaming.  That’d be a good idea.  Pay myself, as it were.  The problem is follow through.  How do I keep myself honest?  I can easily use paper and pen.

But I will probably not do this, because the game just sounds too damn fun.
