Just received the link to the new Transformers trailer:

Much better than the first, however, it’s looking like Megatron isn’t a gun. Looks like…a helicopter? You knew that was coming; society messing with our childhood memories because they’re not PC enough. That gun is too violent. The explosions and shootings are alright though.
Side note: Optimus Prime is shown for a brief second, from the back.

I didn’t even realize that when I watched the trailor, but now that you mention it … yeah, they changed Megatron! At the same time, I don’t really disagreee with it. It was always weird that Megatron was the leader but when transformed was dependent on other for his actions. Good thing Shockwave was so loyal. Too back Starscream wasn’t (remember the animated movie? Rocks!).
Seeing Optimus Prime for a second was very cool. I got chills when the truck started to change.

Disagreed. There is no evidence whatsoever that the helicopter was Megatron. It could be anyone. Wouldn’t be very fun to show the star of the movie, now, would it? Megatron was always everyone’s favorite. I can certainly see the disappointment if it is Megatron, and with with the existing PC climate I can certainly understand why they have done so. The biggest problem with Megatron being a gun is the logistical nightmare it poses as he would have to change from a three stroy robot to a weapon that can fit in the palm of the human hand. Even if it were a weapon that fit in the palm of one of the robots’ hands, it still doesn’t make sense. Eaither way, looks pretty cool, man.

You want to see the theater go nuts? Show him kicking ass all the while playing some tunes out his chest. Which song? Rage Against the Machine of course!
