I read last week that Don Imus is returning to the radio, four months after he was fired from CBS, care of WABC in New York. This news was met with little fanfare and I have seen minimal reports of people being upset, protesting or outraged at WABC. Regardless of how you feel about Imus’ comments, it was nice to see people act out and voice an opinion against them, demonstrating how deeply they believed in something. Now? Not so much. I know that America has a short memory, but have we become that pacified and distracted by everything else going on around us that we just don’t care?

Did She Say ‘Cleveland’!?
August 18, 2007 · No Comments
I’m slightly embarassed I didn’t know this, but thanks to USA Today’s Pop Candy, I just discovered a local band named Bears. They are straight out of Cleveland, and, if you notice, in her post Pop Candy’s Whitney Matheson says there are a lot of good things coming out of Cleveland. (C-town!)
As for Bears, I really liked what I heard. Even though they don’t list them as an influence I think they sound a little like The Shins. They aren’t scheduled to appear locally any time soon, so in the meantime I think I’ll run up to the Disc Exchange and grab their CDs.

Dark Knight Photos

Thanks to USA Today’s Pop Candy, I found a link to these Dark Knight photos. They say there is a spoiler in there, but I’m not seeing it. In addition, while Ledger may actually pull off The Joker, I’m still not sure how they are planning on working the character in. And Bale seems to really be settling into the role.

So I haven’t written in a while. What’s the big deal?
Ok. So, I’ve been a little busy. All that means to you is I am changing the style of my posts. I used to think that I had to write this in-depth piece with some meaning. Basically I got away from what made me like these postings in the first place: short, to the point (whether there is one or not) observations on everything and anything.
And since I’ve already written a paragraph on nothing I’ll only close with this. I was waiting in line at the grocery store the other day and noticed one of the books they put up front for that last impulse buy. It was the Idiots Guide to Faith. I had to pause for a minute. Do we really need a book on this? Isn’t the very essence and definition of faith a belief in something that there is no tangible proof exists? So, because we all have faith in something, doesn’t that make us all ‘idiots’?
