    A New York Times Magazine costuma no outono publicar um número dedicado ao mundo do cinema e em particular Hollywood, aquilo que para os americanos é, quase na totalidade, o cinema. Este ano, contudo, foram um pouco mais longe e encontraram como lema mais amplo "how we watch stuff", afirmando que, para além do cinema, a nossa vida diária se encontra invadida de um sem número de ecrãs. Mesmo sem olhar para o boneco do lado, tenho essa perfeita noção e afirmo-me consumidor de cada um dos níveis aqui apontados. No meu caso e também por deformação profissional, o online saltaria para primeiro lugar. Curioso num gráfico do NYT que não apareçam jornais. Estarão incluídos nas revistas? Seja como for, a revista está cheia de artigos interessantes: um texto de A.O. Scott sobre a forma como o cinema mais uma vez está pressionado para evoluir como tecnologia e contexto social; uma entrevista a David Lynch feita por Deborah Solomon, um pouco surrealista como seria de esperar; uma investigação sobre a evolução do formato da sitcom; um fabuloso vídeo que resume perfeitamente a relação das crianças com os videojogos, a partir do trabalho do fotógrafo Robbie Cooper (vale a pena ver as fotos deles também); uma investigação sobre o prémio que o Netflix oferece para melhorar o seu algoritsmo de sugestões; por fim, uma conversa de fundo sobre a evolução do negócio publicitário e perspectivas futuras. Alguns artigos exigem que se seja utilizador registado, mas o registo é grátis, por isso não hesitem. É imensa food for thought e aconselho vivamente a quem queira perder algum tempo a pensar no assunto. Por mim, faço assumidamente parte deste novo fluxo de imagens, do silêncio obscurecido e ritual da sala de cinema à alta definição de um LCD, ao ecrã de um computador e de um telemóvel, com maior ou menor interactividade e, cada vez mais, do lado de cá e de lá dos vários ecrãs.

Madchen kicsit el van tévedve, a MOWE még az utólagos adatokkal sincs benne a top 20-ban sem össznézettségben, sem 18-49-ben. Sajnos.Pamela Adlon, a Kaiforgia és a Lucky Louie iszonyú vicces szereplője itt mesél a sorozatról, meg arról, hogyan magyarázza el 11 éves lányának, hogy anyu miért szív kokót a tévében. Tévébeli férje, Evan Handler pedig itt kesereg, hogy hiába forgatott már ezer dolgot a Szex és New York óta, mindenki azt a korszakot emlegeti fel neki.Ashton Kutcher Katalyst nevű produkciós irodája két sorozatot készít a CW-nek. Az egyikben (The Beautiful Life) modellcsajok és modellsrácok élnek együtt egy lakásban, és a modellét sötét oldalát mutatják be. Dráma lesz, nem valósághsow, de ettől még faszán kiegészítheti a Topmodellt, amit a CW valószínúűleg újabb évadokra bekér a közeljövőben. A másik sorozat a Chloe Gamble címet viseli és egy texasi szépségkirálynőről szól, aki a muterral meg az ikertesóval (fiú) Hollywoodba költözik szerencsét próbálni.A CBS új sitcommal szemezget Barry Sonnenfeld (Pushing Daisies) istállójából, mégpedig egy olyannal, amit az Esquire nevű férfi életmódmagazin főszerkesztője ír saját könyve alapján, aminek a címe: 500 dolog, amit 30 feletti férfiak soha ne tegyenek meg.A Life On Mars brit eredetije második nemzetközi Emmy-díját kapta meg mint legjobb drámai sorozat - a remake-t ez a veszély nem fenyegeti.Szereposztunk: Michael Trucco (BSG) a The Big Bang Theory-ban fog szerepelni decemberben, Greg Grunberg pedig lehet, hogy visszatér a Lostba flashback formájában.

        Yesterday's New York Time's Sunday Magazine is a must read. Dubbed "The Screens Issue," there are several worthy articles. Here are links to the best of the bunch: The Screening of America (A.O. Scott): Scott talks about how cinema is still relevant, perhaps even more vital even if, in fact, the actual time viewers spend in movie theaters is down... way down (12 hours per year compared to 973 with cable/satellite TV). The Visionary (Questions for David Lynch): Lynch answers questions about watching movies on small screens (hates it), the practice of meditation (loves it), and him being described as "an American surrealist" (agrees with that). The Sitcom Digresses: How of all narrative formats, the sitcom may be the one that has best adapted to contemporary narrative approaches based on new technologies. Moments That Mattered: My favorite article of the bunch. Writers, directors, bloggers, musicians all weigh in with important moments on all 'screens' in 2008. The zeitgeist seems to have a strong whiff of 'what does new technology mean for stories and storytelling,' witness several other article of late including this one. Something worth tracking and discussing in '09.
