Dodgers' Billingsley breaks leg in fall
http://www.laobserved.com/ archive/ 2008/ 11/ dodgers_...Dodgers spokesman Josh Rawitch blogs that Billingsley suffered a spiral fracture of the left fibula (his landing leg) when he slipped on ice at home in Pennsylvania on Friday. A plate was inserted in the leg and the official position is that the 24-year-old starting pitcher will be ready for spring training. "I'll keep you guys posted as I hear more news, but I guess if you're going to break your leg and you're a baseball player, November is the right time to do it," Rawitch writes. Will Carroll, the independent injury expert at Baseball Prospectus, has yet to weigh in with his report.
