no new leaves

I have a banana plant (basjoo) that was putting out a new leaf every 5 to 7 days during the heat of the summer but for the past 2 weeks there is no sign of any new growth even though the older leaves look fine. I fertilized with a slow release plant food so as not to burn the roots but no response. Any ideas wht I am doing wrong or is this to be expected? :waving:
