  Market research firm JPR has done a study to find out just how well the PC gaming market is doing. Their findings show that the PC game market is doing just fine…better than the console industry. According to their data, 196 million gaming PCs were sold sold versus 74.7 million PS3s, Xbox 360s and Wiis. Now…I don’t really know what low-level specs count as a gaming rig…but I do know that each one of those consoles plays every single game made for it! Link

    Poor inventory management at Best Buy

    This afternoon I was out and about doing some shopping when I stopped into best buy looking for two PC games (F.E.A.R and Portal). The shopping experience was a bit frustrating… All of the PC software was moved into the back of the store and marked in no way. There is nothing more frustrating than having to wander around a store to find what you need – oh, wait, there is… After tracking down the PC games I was quite disappointed to see that there was NO order in how the games were displayed. None. One could think the games would be alphabetically listed, or by genera, but no… All games were mixed together, no logical order at all. One may think that PC games are going by the wayside due to xbox, Wii and the like, but that is not the case. The PC game market is larger than gaming consoles. With the market size, and potential for revenue, it would be in the interest of Best Buy to give the attention the segment deserves. Be Social and share!
