   Norah is at the perfect age for enjoying a play kitchen. Every time we go to someone’s house who has one, she seems to gravitate towards it. I really love the wooden play kitchens out there (like this red one from Pottery Barn Kids and my favorite are these from Land of Nod) but they can get pricey in a hurry.

   I have a banana plant (basjoo) that was putting out a new leaf every 5 to 7 days during the heat of the summer but for the past 2 weeks there is no sign of any new growth even though the older leaves look fine. I fertilized with a slow release plant food so as not to burn the roots but no response.
