The world lost a great man yesterday. Michael Crichton, who wrote the book that was turned into my favorite movie of all time, died of cancer at the age of 66.
He was a very smart man and a good author and wrote some of the the most popular books in the last 30 years, like Congo, The Andromeda Strain, Sphere, and the one that became my favorite movie, Jurassic Park. He also created ER, and whether you like or not, it had a long, successful run.
It’s funny how one of his books became one of the best movies ever, but another one (Congo) became probably the worst movie ever.
Update!: After doing a little more research into MC, it turns out that he also had a hand in the video game world. According to Wikipedia, wrote a text-based adventure game called Amazon back in 1984 for the Apple II, Atart ST, Commodore 64, and the DOS systems. With its updated graphics and music, it sold a bunch of copies and was quite a success.
