I've actually been to Finland once, a long time ago, but it was in the summer, so no cross country skiing. However, I did do a lot of mountain biking, way up north, past the arctic circle. The almost constant daylight served to energize me, and the lush forests sharpened my senses.

It's a popular sport here to be given a map in the middle of nowhere and have to find your way back to a designated spot - quicker than everyone else.

I've just completed my first year here and the summer had the same affect on me too.

I've not been to Japan yet, but it's high on the list and I think I'd like the countryside more than the cities, which is where most people I know seem to go.; 4:19 AM
