Las elecciones están a la vuelta de la esquina. Todos llegan a ver bastantes avisos acerca de escoger a un presidente y a un vicepresidente o una vicepresidenta, y de votar para ciertas enmiendas y proposiciones. Pero, parece que mucha gente no ha tenido la oportunidad de ver este aviso con SackBoy. La proposición Plutón es más que simple propaganda para el juego porque va más allá de eso. El objetivo principal de la propuesta es de ayudar a reclasificar a Plutón como un planeta otra vez para que sea conocido una vez más como el planeta más pequeñito de nuestra galaxia. El sitio web informa a los visitantes acerca de: los hechos que apoyan a esta proposición [hasta con un enlace a una página cibernética de la NASA], el porqué debes  votar [con solo firmar una petición que se mandará a la Unión Astronómica Internacional [International Astronomical Union], y quién es SackBoy, Miren el aviso “político”. Me encanta lo que está escrito en la parte de abajo derecha de la página principal: “Yo soy SackBoy y apruebo este mensaje”. Plutón no puede defenderse por sí mismo contra su desclasificación. Our opponents would like you to believe that Pluto is “paling around” with other dwarf planets and is no longer “legit” enough to be considered a true planet. Are they serious? It’s unfortunate that they are trying to mislead us with lies and distortions. Ο λόγος ξανά στα στοιχεία: ο μέσος κάτοικος του πλανήτη καταναλώνει 43 κιλά κρέατος τον χρόνο. Για να παραχθεί ένα κιλό κρέας, πρέπει να εκλυθούν στην ατμόσφαιρα 36,4 κιλά διοξειδίου του άνθρακα. Μόνο μέσω της κατανάλωσης κρέατος, λοιπόν, «φορτωνόμαστε» κάθε χρόνο την εκπομπή 1.565 κιλών διοξειδίου του άνθρακα. Είναι σαν να αφήσουμε μια λάμπα 100 Watt να καίει ασταμάτητα επί 2 χρόνια. Εκτός αυτού, ειδικά το κόκκινο κρέας ενοχοποιείται για μια σειρά προβλημάτων υγείας.

Η κρεατοφαγία σε αριθμούς

140 γραμμάρια κρέατος καταναλώνει καθημερινά ο μέσος Έλληνας. Πριν από 35 χρόνια, η μέση κατανάλωση δεν ξεπερνούσε τα 35 γραμμάρια

60 γραμμάρια (κόκκινου) κρέατος την εβδομάδα είναι το όριο που θέτει η μεσογειακή διατροφή

ΤΟ 30% της επιφάνειας της Γης που δεν καλύπτεται από πάγους συμμετέχει άμεσα ή έμμεσα στην παραγωγή κρέατος

990 λίτρα νερού απαιτούνται για να παραχθεί ένα λίτρο γάλα

1κιλό διοξειδίου του άνθρακα εκλύεται όταν παράγεται ένα μπιφτέκι ταχυφαγείου

36,4 κιλά διοξειδίου του άνθρακα εκπέμπονται στη διάρκεια της παραγωγής ενός κιλού κρέατος, σύμφωνα με πρόσφατη ιαπωνική μελέτη. Το μέσο ευρωπαϊκό αυτοκίνητο εκπέμπει 36,4 κιλά διοξειδίου του άνθρακα κάθε 250 χιλιόμετρα

100 κιλά μεθανίου εκπέμπει κάθε χρόνο η μέση αγελάδα. Το μεθάνιο είναι αέριο του θερμοκηπίου, 23 φορές πιο ισχυρό από το διοξείδιο του άνθρακα. 100 κιλά μεθανίου λοιπόν ισοδυναμούν με 2.300 κιλά διοξειδίου του άνθρακα- για την εκπομπή τους, πρέπει να οδηγήσετε 12.550 χιλιόμετρα

7 κιλά σιτηρών χρειάζονται για να παραχθεί ένα κιλό κρέας

1.500.000.000 αγελάδες και ταύροι εκτιμάται ότι υπάρχουν σε ολόκληρο τον κόσμο. Παράγουν τα δύο τρίτα της αμμωνίας παγκοσμίωςη αμμωνία θεωρείται το βασικό αίτιο της τοξικής βροχής

456.000.000 τόνους κρέατος, σχεδόν διπλάσια ποσότητα σε σύγκριση με το 2001, αναμένεται να καταναλώνουμε έως το 2050. Το 1961, η συνολική παγκόσμια προσφορά κρέατος δεν ξεπερνούσε τα 71 εκατομμύρια τόνους
