Grant Information

In general, the grant making of the Annie E. Casey Foundation is limited to initiatives in the United States that have significant potential to demonstrate innovative policy, service delivery, and community supports for disadvantaged children and families. Most grantees have been invited by the Foundation to participate in these projects.

We do not seek, nor often fund, unsolicited grant applications. The Foundation’s approach to grant making focuses on making multi-year, multi-site commitments that enable us to invest in long-term strategies and partnerships that strengthen families and communities. In any given year, we have limited resources to fund additional, unsolicited proposals.

However, we do not discourage you from sharing your ideas with us. If you would like the Casey Foundation to consider supporting a specific promising program, practice, or policy that helps children and families succeed, send us a brief description of the project and contact information where we can learn more. Please note that the Foundation does not make grants to individuals, nor does it provide grants for capital improvement projects, medical research, or work outside the United States. Submit your ideas.

If your organization is located within Baltimore, Maryland or New Haven, Connecticut, you may be interested in our local small grants programs. Both the Baltimore Direct Services Grants Program and the New Haven Direct Services Grants Program fund a broad range of community-based child and family programs serving disadvantaged children in those cities.
