Fri Feb 29, 2008 at 12:47:58 PM PST
Just wanted to give a heads up to those in the NYC area who might be interested in this panel discussion on How the Netroots are Changing Progressive Politics It's on Wednesday, March 5, 6:30 to 8:00
CUNY Graduate Center, Proshansky Auditorium, 365 Fifth Avenue, it's free with limited seating.
Don't see Markos on the list of participants....wha happened?
Details below:
I just received this email:
Internet activism has upended American politics by amplifying new voices, connecting disparate social networks, transforming campaign funding, enhancing public scrutiny and helping elect non-traditional candidates. Are the Democrats listening? Can the netroots advance the Democratic Party and function as an independent progressive movement? This panel will convene progressive thinkers, writers and bloggers for a lively discussion of how the netroots are changing progressive politics.
Participants include:
Katrina vanden Heuvel, Publisher and Editor of The Nation;
Zephyr Teachout, Assistant Professor of Law, Duke University, and an architect of Howard Dean's Internet strategy;
Matt Stoller, founding blogger of OpenLeft and President of BlogPAC;
Roberto Lovato, writer at New America Media and founder of Of America blog;
Moderated by Ari Melber, correspondent for The Nation and contributing editor at Personal Democracy Forum.
We'll also be creating a podcast of the event so it's available to everyone. Please watch this space for info and check Around the Nation, The Nation's national progressive calendar, for info on events nationwide.
Sounds like a great event, although they will be missing Mr. Prime Mover.
