Partnership with The North Space

DJC Design has recently formed a partnership with the Yorkshire based design and communication agency The North Space ( www.thenorthspace.com).We have been working together to provide clients with fully accessible websites, which meet all the latest W3C standards. The first major project was for an innovative company which recycles mobile phones and then markets them in bulk to countries across the globe.

The EMC site uses a fully accessible content management system called ModX, which enables clients to easily update and edit web pages on their site. It also provides a secure way of managing content, giving various groups of users access to relevant areas of the site. In addition the site separates its content from the design and formatting via extensive use of cascading style sheets (CSS). This has a number of benefits. The first is that any changes to the design and formatting can be achieved by making a change in just one place, the controlling CSS file. Secondly, it optimizes the site for search engines to 'spider' the site correctly, improving the organisation's rankings on sites such as Google.
