We just arrived from a 3 day 2 nights stay in the PHilippines’ summer capital - Baguio city!
All Palad family went there, that includes my mom and dad, my ate and her family (hubby and 2 kids), me and my wife and 2 kids, Nelson with his wife and our bunso with, well.. no one yet.
We stayed there 3 days and rented a transient house for P3500 a night or something.
Bought souvenirs yesterday and today (this morning).. There are many bamboo blinds in Mines view but only Ate bought one.
Overall the adventure was alright… I hope that this will become a yearly event.. kahit di baquio basta yearly.

Last Sunday, December 7, 2008 (the same day that Manny Pacquiao is fighting Oscar Dela Hoya), my brother Nel, got married to his lovely wife Alpha.
We all went to Dau to witness the said event.. The wedding was great! It’s was all pink and brown and the food was nice, sounds as well… There was the cool Emcees and the pastor and everyone else was ok.
My son, Matthew was the bible boy.. We are all hoping that he wont throw any tantrums and walk in the aisle… which he did! He was so cute (and makulit).
I will be posting some pictures (and sexy lingerie, kidding) of the event on my personal blog, so hope you can visit me there too!

I’m writing about Persimmon trees.. So this post is all about that, Persimmon trees.
What Are Persimmon Fruit?
According to Wikipedia:
A persimmon is the edible fruit of a number of species of trees of the genus Diospyros in the ebony wood family (Ebenaceae). The word persimmon is derived from putchamin, pasiminan, or pessamin, from Powhatan, an Algonquian Cree and Mohican) of the eastern United States, meaning “a dry fruit”.[1] Persimmons are generally light yellow-orange to dark red-orange in color, and depending on the species, vary in size from 1.5-9 cm (0.5-4 in) diameter, and may be spherical, acorn-, or pumpkin-shaped.[2] The calyx often remains attached to the fruit after harvesting, but becomes easier to remove as it ripens. They are high in glucose, with a balanced protein profile, and possess various medicinal and chemical uses. While the persimmon fruit is not considered a “common berry” it is in fact a “true berry” by definition.
I’m not sure if there is a tagalog word equivalent to persimmon fruit.. but I am sure there is.. What do you think it is?

Matt and Sean have been experiencing bad cases of cough and cold.. but yesterday late afternoon, Sean suddenly got a fever.. I was afraid that this might be dengue or something… I kept it to myself and prayed that I am wrong..
Then this morning, as I was preparing to go to work, Sean still has that fever and it’s higher that time and there are red marks on his face (side) and shoulder… I decided to take a leave at work at take him to the hospital
At St. Michael, Sean (and Matt’s) Pediatrician said that what Sean had was just a rash caused by the cold weather (it’s hot?! Well at least the coldness the electric fan last night). Been wetting the hot parts tru the kitchen faucets just to keep it cool
I’m just thankful that Sean’s alright.. Thank you god

Forgot to blog about this.. My mom got a new car last week, friday (exactly one week). First time I saw it or rode it was when I arrived here from Canada.
Our old Starex was sold I think for 350K php which was used as the downpayment for the Honda CRV.
I found out today that that will be ‘ the gift‘ for Dennis… Cool! He’ll need to buy car covers to protect that oh so shiny car.

It’s that time of the year again. What time of year you might ask?! Well, Christmas time of course. It’s the time of the month again that we are going to be heavier and fatter because of the ‘holiday fats’ or calories, is what they’re calling it.
I noticed that ever christmas, when everyone is preparing delicous foods and other, we tend to get fat… Then January comes, we then kill ourselves to exercise just to get rid of those holiday calories.. Search search for diets plans, exercise regimes and healthy snacks.
Am I right? of course… i saw it, i saw google proved it. check out your self.

Saturday, October 25, 2008.. this is probably our last day of pasyal here in Vancouver Canada. Our very kind hosts took us a ride to different tourists attractions here in Vancouver (North, west, downtown).
We took of around 12:30 or 1Pm.. our first stop was not in Wilmington NC real estate but in Mount Seymour! We actually climb the mountain by car! It’s like going to Baguio City.. We are literally in clouds.
Mt Seymour is a SKi resort during Winter time, unfortunately its not winter yet… We were there walking ang taking pictures.
