Barack Obama will appear on The O'Reilly Factor on Fox News tonight. John McCain cancelled his interview with CNN. That sums up all you need to know about either candidate - and, in a nutshell, explains why Barack Obama will win the White House on Nov. 4.

What a bizarre week for Obama to mount a counter-programming effort. He has the RNC and Hurricanes Gustav and Sarah. It's going pretty well for him -- not that he has all that much to do with it.

Coulter's job is to inject into the Republican echo chamber racist words that would be unacceptable anywhere else, and she's now given away the far Right's anti-Obama strategy.

The same team that put together Britney Spears' last tour created the stage where Barack Obama accepted the Democratic Presidential Nomination last night. Is that a problem? Not really.

Every wonder how FOX News host Megyn Kelly manages to provide such insightful commentary? Clearly, it's the endless hours of preparation.

I believe that people in every corner of the country and of all political stripes would react with an equal level of disgust when we hear remarks of the sort that Liz Trotter made on FOX News.

Once, Fox thought it had the market cornered on over-the-top populist outrage. No more. Hence the logic to the idea that Olbermann must be destroyed.

Last week a mix of water and sanitation experts gathered for World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden to mull over the world's biggest public health crisis. The problem is that not enough people paid attention.

While consumers of most news outlets scored poorly on the test, a separate question revealed that a vast majority believe they follow national news closely.

"Race commentators," when Fox calls, tell them that you would deeply appreciate the opportunity to discuss racism in the US, but that Biden's campaign gaffe does not quite register enough for your earnest concern.

An "O'Reilly Factor" producer cornered PBS's Bill Moyers at a conference on media reform this weekend, leading Moyers to demand an unedited interview about Iraq. Angry journalists piled on.

O'Reilly claims that Barack Obama is boosting the sales of Obama Nation, the number one book on this week's New York Timesbestseller list, because he won't come on The Factor.

O'Reilly was his typical thuggish, brutish self. He attempted to interrupt Obama at every turn, limit him to one-word answers, and dismiss his responses. An O'Reilly interview is just an attempt to embarrass and humiliate his ideological opponents and has otherwise little news value. The interview, given the hostility to Obama that O'Reilly showed, differed so much from O'Reilly's fawning, preening interviews to our idiot-in-chief Bush.
All I know is that Obama doesn't run and hide from the media to evade questioning. Unlike Boohoo McCain last week when he canceled out on CNN when his widdle feewings got hurt.
This says a lot about a man's character.
OBAMA/BIDEN 08'/12'
If O'Really-O'Reilly is actually "fair and balanced," he would give McCainosaurus just as hard of a time that he is giving Obama. He kept cutting Obama off and would not let him finish his answer before trying to jump on him. I almost had hope that O'Really would give Obama a fair shake, but so far it is not happening. Luckily, Obama is holding his ground firm and not letting this chump bully him.
I get the impression that Rupert Murdoch had a little talk behind the wood shed with Papa Bear about how to interview Barack Obama. Too many intelligent questions (at least for Billo) asked of Obama. Who by the way handled himself very well. How can you not want this man to be President of the United States. If Barack Obama is elected President I will be able to sleep very well at 3:00 AM in the morning.
Hi All,
Must be a slow news day . . . not much activity on these posts.
But . . . the only news from this interview was "Obama caves to O'Reilly intimidation".
Otherwise, Obama just had another interview . . . and O'Reilly was just O'Reilly
No real breaking news here . . . O'Reilly had taunted the senator for months and the senator had a few moments available.
I rushed home to watch this epic clash . . . and it was just a civil discourse . . . pretty much a yawner
oh well . . .
