Public Seminars and Classes
UAMS is proud to present free medical seminars to the communities of Arkansas. All seminars are free unless noted otherwise.
UAMS Medical Center Weight Control Program
The orientation seminars are every other Thursday @ 6:00 p.m. in the Sam Walton Auditorium on the 10th floor of the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute. You must have an appointment scheduled to attend the orientation. Call 603-1497 to make an appointment

Infant and Child Care Classes - Preparing for the Birth of Your Baby
A series of classes covers such topics as: preparing for the birth of your baby, labor delivery tour, new born care, breastfeeding, infant care, sibling class, and infant/child CPR.

UAMS is now offering an eight-week Smoking Cessation Clinic for individuals who wish to stop smoking.
SeniorNet Offers Hands-on Classes
The nonprofit SeniorNet provides adults 50 and older access to and education about computer technology and the Internet to enhance their lives and enable them to share their knowledge and wisdom. Computer training classes are held in Donald W. Reynolds Center on Aging on the UAMS campus. Individual workstations are provided with nearly one-on-one instruction. You can learn basic computer usage, word-processing, e mailing, and "surfing" the World Wide Web including the web sites of the UAMS and the Reynolds Center on Aging. If you are already computer-literate and would like to assist in teaching, SeniorNet is always looking for volunteer coaches. Visit SeniorNet for in-dept information on many subjects of interests to older adults. To register for classes or to receive additional information, contact SeniorNet at 501/603-1262.

Hepatitis C Support Group
Second Tuesday of each month
6:30-7:30 p.m
UAMS College of Public Health, Room G232
Hepatitis C patients receiving care at UAMS or at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System, plus one family member, are invited to attend this group.
Meetings will be held the 2nd Tuesday of each month and we will have guest speakers discussing different aspects of HEP C.
