The mission of the UAMS Patient Education Department is to provide patients and their families with useful information, instruction and skills to maintain and improve their health.
To achieve this mission, the Patient Education Department provides the interdisciplinary framework to integrate patient education throughout UAMS Medical Center.
The overall goal of the Patient Education Department is to provide a multidisciplinary service to address the health care learning needs of patients and families throughout all points of service in UAMS Medical Center.
All services will focus on maximizing cost-effective care by assuring that patients and families have the skills to manage their care independently.
