Miscellaneous Links

ACB Radio
This page on the American Council of the Blind's site is a webcasting service that offers several radio stations you can receive using free Internet audio players like Windows Media Player and RealPlayer. Stations feature news, music, classic radio, and more.
Blindness-related links
One of the most well-known blindness-related web sites, this is where I turn to the most for information about speech-friendly software. It's also the home of the list of blindness-related e-mail mailing lists.
DB-Link
This site contains abundant information on children who are deaf-blind. They offer many fact sheets, free of charge, on such topics as receptive communication, psychological evaluation of children who are deaf-blind, and recreation/leisure activities.
Debbie Day's page
This site, like V. I. Guide, is aimed at parents and teachers of children with visual impairments. Information on games, sports and recreation; Nemeth braille, toys and learning tools are just some of the terrific areas her site offers.
Special Education Exchange (SpedEx)
This site offers research and resource information about blindness and special education issues. Abstracts from conferences (called Poster Sessions), an on-line directory of vision professionals, and results from research studies, among other things, are included on their web site.
The Life of Helen Keller
This is a short but very nice story about Helen Keller, presented by the Royal National Institute for the Blind.
