VirginiaMentor is a website representing the public and private colleges and universities of Virginia. It serves as an online resource to help students and their families select a college, apply for admission, and plan to finance higher education. It also offers access to information and admissions applications for public and private colleges and universities within Virginia. An important section of the VirginiaMentor website deals with the Commonwealth College Course Collaborative. The Commonwealth College Course Collaborative (CCCC) is a common set of subjects that allow Virginia students the chance to earn a semester's worth of college credit while in high school. These courses can be taken through dual enrollment, Advanced Placement (including virtual and online AP courses), and/or International Baccalaureate programs. One useful feature of this section of the web site is the Transfer Tool. This feature allows parents and students to select an individual state participating college and determine the score needed on the AP exam in order to receive credit for that course at that college.
