LEAD THE DEVELOPMENT OF WEB TECHNOLOGY
The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is looking for a new team member to assist with building up a training program for mobile Web developers as well as with providing architectural and technical leadership and supporting Working Groups within the Ubiquitous Web domain. This is an opportunity for a unique individual to be part of the team responsible for the design of next generation World Wide Web Technologies working towards the goal of the "Web of Things" and to lead a variety of industry and user groups toward the development of technologies that enhance the functionality of the Web.
We are seeking candidates to plan and establish a self-sustaining training program teaching Web content developers interested in creating mobile-friendly Web content as part of the MobiWeb2.0 ICT project. Candidates should also be able to take on the role of a team contact for a W3C Working Group within the Ubiquitous Web domain. The role of a W3C team contact is described in the W3C process.
You will be associated with the French W3C host ERCIM, in Sophia-Antipolis. You will have to travel often, to EU project-related meetings, Working Group meetings or conferences as well as to the other W3C hosts, located at MIT in Boston, USA and at Keio University in Fujisawa, Japan.
As the recognized leader for the technical development of the World Wide Web, we are seeking an individual with both Web technology and project management experience, a good understanding of the Web industry, eagerness to make the Web an even better framework for building distributed applications, and enthusiasm for the mission and spirit of W3C.
We plan to make a decision starting September. To apply, please send a motivation letter, your resume or CV and copies of your Diplomas (including High School or equivalent) in electronic form to ercim-applications@w3.org
