Label bureau software

General Purpose Label Bureau Services

If you have client software that offers the option of connecting to a Label Bureau (sometimes called a Rating Bureau) to access labels provided by independent third-parties, the following label bureaus offer free public access. To test what these label bureaus say about a particular URL, try the test-a-URL service at the PICS Application Incubator.

Special Purpose Label Bureau Services

These label bureaus are set up to work only with client software provided by the same vendor, although other vendors may be able to make licensing arrangements.

Hosting Services

The following organizations are willing to provide (possibly for a fee), a label bureau server on which an independent rater can post labels for distribution. Last update: 8/20/1996
