Brighton Festival was a huge success again, opening this summers Festival season, with street theatre, installations, open houses and concluding with Mahlers wonderful Symphony 2, Taking in readings from Jarvis Cocker, Mark E. Smith and film maker supremo Mike Leigh, there was something here for everyone through out the month of May. Hot on the heals of Brighton, was, of course, Hay Festival. Sadly no Tony Benn this year, but the best food, books, strawberries and company might just make up for it. We were there again, despite the rain! Charlie Higson was not the egocentric monster often portrayed....
Herbert Keppler, 1925-2008 Monday, 7 January 2008 Herbert Keppler, one of the most influential and respected figures in the post-war photographic industry, died on Friday night after a short illness at the age of 82.
